FAITH IS AT THE HEART OF ST. GEORGE SCHOOL

At St. George School, we believe that a strong Catholic education goes beyond the classroom—it shapes who our students become. Faith is woven into everything we do, from daily prayer and religious instruction to service projects and community outreach. Students grow spiritually through regular Mass, retreats, and prayer services, while also having the opportunity to prepare for and receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Reconciliation. Our goal is to nurture confident, compassionate leaders who live their faith in meaningful ways. At St. George, faith isn’t just something we teach—it’s something we live every day.

LITURGY GROUP

At St. George School, we encourage students to take an active role in our faith community by participating in Mass and liturgies through our student Liturgy Group. Students in grades 2-8 have the opportunity to serve in various ministries, including hospitality, ushering, lectoring, and presenting the gifts. Those who demonstrate enthusiasm and a commitment to regular Mass attendance are invited to take part, helping to make our school liturgies meaningful and engaging.

Students in 4th grade and above may also choose to become altar servers as part of their faith journey. Altar server formation is offered during Religion class and is led by the Coordinator of Campus Ministry. Parents receive information about upcoming training sessions, ensuring that interested students have the opportunity to deepen their participation in the Mass.

SERVICE HOURS REQUIREMENT

At St. George School, we believe that service is an essential part of living out our faith. To encourage a spirit of giving, students in 7th and 8th grade are required to complete community service hours as part of their preparation for graduation. These hours can be earned through unpaid service to the Church or local community, allowing students to put their faith into action in meaningful ways. Service hours can be completed anytime after July 1st of a student’s 7th or 8th grade year. Families can find more details through the school office or by reaching out to the Service Hour Moderator.
