St. George Parish School

Teacher Bio

Hello and welcome to 3rd Grade. My name is Diana Armenta and this is my 5th year at St. George School. I believe St. George is a wonderful place to teach and learn and I feel lucky to be your child's 3rd grade teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. My goal is to create a caring, safe and engaging learning environment, which encourages students to believe in themselves and to do their personal best! I recognize that 3rd grade is a landmark year for our students at St. Goerge School because we get to prepare for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. I look forward to walking side by side with my students as they embark on this journey.
For the last few years, I have been the Resource Specialist at St. George. I supported students who struggled in different academic areas by providing them with supplemental instruction. I worked closely with parents, classroom teachers, and local School District specialists to ensure all our students were provided with the ideal environment, tools, and skills to be successful.

I consider Education my second career. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Applied Technology from the University of Phoenix and prior to entering the education field, I was in the corporate sector in the Financial Services industry as a Training Manager. I’ve always considered myself an educator. While in the corporate world I “educated” or trained the adult learners on my staff on policies and procedures.

In January of 2017 I earned a Master of Arts degree in Education with a specialization in Educational Technology from National University. I am continuing my education as I work towards an Education Specialist Instruction Credential. I take pride in being a life long learner!
On a personal note, my husband Ariel and I have been married for 14 years and spend our free time with our families and two boys Julian and Nicholas who also attend St. George School. We enjoy being active volunteers in our parish community through service and ministry. I have grown up in the Diocese of San Bernardino at St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Alta Loma. I completed the Parish Ministers Formation Program in March 2016. I serve as a Eucharistic minister and have been a catechist for First Holy Communion, Adult and Teen RCIA and Confirmation programs.
I take pride in being active in the Education community participating in the West End Special Education Local Plan Area’s (WESELPA) monthly Community Advisory Committee meetings where as a parent and teacher, I advocate for effective Special Education programs and services. Also, while my children were in preschool I was an elected board member of the San Bernardino County Preschool Services Policy Council, sharing in the decision-making process for the federal Head Start/Early Head Start Child Development Program serving San Bernardino County.

My hope is to make the 2017-2018 school year a memorable one. I welcome parents to reach out with questions. After all, we are partners working together to help your child reach their personal best!
