Hello! My name is Jason Losciale.
I have what many would call a well-traveled life. From birth and through graduating college I lived in 6 different states, being born in New Jersey then quickly moving to both Maryland & Ohio. My elementary school years were spent here in the Southern California area, as I grew up in Upland, CA. During my middle school through college years, I lived on both the East Coast (Pennsylvania) and Midwest (Illinois). I graduated cum laude from Aurora University in Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts, and having passed the Illinois State Board of Education Basic Skills Exam, as well as the Assessment of Professional Teaching (APT) Special K-12 Exam, I hold an Illinois State Teacher Certificate.
While I have a background in Physical and Health Education, after graduation, I became employed as a substitute teacher (K-12) for a number of school districts in my area. As a substitute teacher, I was able to enhance my knowledge and teaching abilities of the core classes: English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, as well as elective courses: Computer Technology, Business & Career (Life Skill Classes), Art, and Wood Working. I was a two-sport high school varsity athlete (Soccer & Baseball) and also played Collegiate Baseball at the Division III level. I worked as a youth coach and sports coordinator in a number of organizations including the YMCA, Challenger Program, and High School Extra-Curricular Activities/Intramurals. I also had the opportunity to pass along my knowledge and experience as an athlete with a position as Assistant Freshman Baseball Coach for West Aurora High School & Marmion Academy in Aurora, Illinois.
I have been married to my wonderful and supportive wife, Katie since 2011. We are currently the proud parents of an 8-year-old female English Boxer named Jersey (after the state where I was born) and a 1-year-old Male English Boxer named Koby. In November of 2013, Katie and I decided it was time to be closer to our families and escape the long and cold Illinois winters, so we relocated to Southern California, and live in Rancho Cucamonga. This has only slightly backfired, as Jersey & Koby have grown accustomed to being the world’s most spoiled puppies because we now live near both sets of grandparents.
Recently I completed my third year as a Jr. High Math/Media teacher here at St. George School, and would like to thank all of the people that helped and supported me along the way. Over these past three years, I have had the opportunity to continue my professional development by attending various workshops/conferences like I-TEACH 2015, Microsoft Excel Basics and Beyond, Autism Training, and more. I am also proud to announce as of March 2016 I have completed the Diocesean required Parish Ministers Formation Program (PMFP). I look forward to applying my knowledge, skills, and experience gained from teaching my classes this year to the 2017-2018 school year. By bringing my passion and enthusiasm for learning as both a teacher and coach, I hope to provide a rewarding school year for my students.
