Description
Each night the daily homework will be posted here.
In addition, there is homework that is assigned every Monday, but due on Friday. So if students finish their daily homework, they should be working on their weekly homework. It would be unwise for students to leave all of the weekly homework until Thursday night, as they will not be very successful in 5th Grade!
 
Reading Response Journals: Each week students are to read for 20 minutes nightly, then on their designated night they will write in response to the Chapter book they are reading. Please see your Reading Response Journal rubrics, samples, and writing prompts for more information.
Student Numbers 21-31 RRJ is due on Tuesday.
Student Numbers 11-20 RRJ is due on Wednesday.
Student Numbers 1-10   RRJ is due on Thursday.
 
I have also attached the SLE assignments for the entire year. The SLE is due on Friday each week unless otherwise noted.

Create a bulleted list of ideas for you how you can escape the summer slide. What can you do this summer to continue to grow as a responsible lifelong learner?
 
Use that bulleted list to write a paragraph with ideas for how you can continue to be a Responsible Lifelong Learner, over the summertime. For instance, you could go to the library, complete your Readers are Leaders reports, go on MOBYMAX, or other educational websites, go to Mass, read the Bible, or go to summer school. Writing:  Do some research about events in the past, in order to narrow down your Ranger in Time ideas to just one. Pick one time in history to write about and describe int on the top of your Writing Planner for Ranger in Time.
 
Spelling/Vocabulary:  The Unit 3 Vocabulary Workshop words and ReadingVocabulary Words are also the spelling words this week (for a total of 22 Spelling and Vocabulary words.) Students should write out Spelling Stairs for the 10 words in the Reading book p. 126.
 
Vocabulary Flashcards: If not finished in class, students should write out Vocabulary flashcards for all 22 words. The word and part of speech goes on the front, and the definition, synonym, and antonym go on the back, along with a meaningful sentence, using the word.
