Technology

At St. George School, we embrace technology as a powerful tool for learning, creativity, and problem-solving. By integrating technology into all areas of the curriculum, we prepare students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and navigate an ever-evolving digital world. From interactive lessons to hands-on exploration in our STEM lab, students engage with technology in meaningful ways that enhance their education and deepen their understanding. Our commitment to innovation ensures that students develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
1:1 Device Program

At St. George School, we integrate technology into the learning experience in a way that enhances engagement, supports academic growth, and prepares students for the digital world. Our 1:1 device program ensures that every student has access to the tools they need to succeed.

In TK through 2nd grade, each student is issued an iPad for use during the school day. These devices support early learners as they build foundational skills, explore interactive lessons, and engage with personalized learning programs. Students use their iPads to complete online assessments through Renaissance and access a suite of educational tools, including Accelerated Reader, myON, Freckle, Lalilo, and Accelerated Math.

Beginning in 3rd grade, students transition to Chromebooks, which they use daily both in the classroom and at home. This shift fosters independence and responsibility while ensuring continued access to the same Renaissance programs and online learning platforms. By middle school, students are equipped with the digital literacy skills needed to research, collaborate, and produce meaningful work using technology.

Through our thoughtfully designed technology program, students learn to use digital tools in purposeful and responsible ways, preparing them to thrive in an ever-evolving world.

SMARTLAB & Interactive Technology

At St. George School, we are committed to providing students with cutting-edge learning experiences that foster innovation, creativity, and problem-solving. Our SMARTLAB, officially opened in November 2022, is a testament to that commitment. St. George is proud to be the first school in the Diocese and the city of Ontario to host this state-of-the-art program, earning the Leadership in Innovation Award in 2023 for its impact on student learning.

Faculty members were selected for the University of Notre Dame’s STEM Teaching Fellowship and completed an intensive training in 2023, ensuring that our students benefit from the latest in STEM education and hands-on learning. The SMART Lab is equipped with:

  • State-of-the-art computers
  • 3D printers & milling programs
  • Drones & CAD design programs
  • VEX Robotics
  • Green screens for digital media and recordings

In addition to the SMARTLAB, St. George School continues to enhance classroom technology with the latest advancements. Every K-8 classroom is now equipped with a 75" BOXLIGHT interactive flat panel display, allowing students to engage with lessons through touchscreen technology that brings learning to life.

Through these exciting innovations, we are preparing students not only for academic success but also for the technological landscape of the future.
